01/11/10

Hello,

this past transfer week has gone by fast. Sister John and I have been seperated and we're no longer serving in the Austin area. We are both serving in San Antonio. I'm in a place called Windcrest. There's a big map of San Antonio in our apartment and we only live few miles aways from where I went to school and where I used to live when I was here. even though were really close it's just outside of our area which is sad but I'm still happy to be here.

My new companions name is Sister Boyd. She's from Highland, UT and Nana is friends with her mother so I knew about her before we met.She also went to school with Uncle Matt and they were friends in Junior High...small world. She's really sweet and she's been in this her first area, for three transfers so i'm learning a lot from her.

Our area is shared with Elders so we have a car share with them as well. This means that we're on bikes for half of the week when we don't have the car. i was actually excited when i learned we were going to be on the bikes because it is really good excercise. My first night here we used the bikes for like twenty minutes before we went in ans I kept laughing at myself because I could not believe that I was here, on a bike, in a skirt, with a helmet on. If there was any pride left in me it is definitely gone now.

Windcrest is a fairly big area. A lot of nice houses ( that remind me of being back east) and there are a lot of really poor areas too. The weather here is just as cold as i was in Austin so no change there. I'm looking forward to being here and I finally get to go to the temple once a transfer!

I'll try to write more next week but before I forget my new address is 6700 N Vandiver #905 san Antonio, Tx 78029

Love you,

Sister Green
