Hello Hello Everyone,
I'm not very good at reminding you the week before but hopefully you all know that this week is transfer week! We got our phone calls last night and Sister Boyd and I are staying together for another transfer! We were both really excited because we've been teaching a couple of different people together and we didn't want to leave yet.
Nothing really new to report on except the entire mission is extremely excited to hear from one of the twelve this Saturday! The work here in Windcrest continues to go well and we've been blessed with people to teach.
I don't have a lot of time today but I love you all. Thank you for all of you support and prayers as well as the Valentines Day wishes :) Hope you all have a good week.
Love you,
Sister Green

Hello all,
Another great week here! We've seen more miracles. This past week we started teaching two part member families. The first family is the Hernandez family. The husband has been a member for a little over a year and his wife and 14 year old daughter are now showing interest in learning more. We had a good lesson with them this weekend and we have another one tonight.
The second family is the Haliburtons. Both the mother and her 16 year old son have been baptized. Derrick (the son) was baptized in November and his mother was interested, took the lessons, and he was able to baptize her in December. She has two teenage daughters who previously weren't interested but this past week we went over and had a lesson and both of the girls stayed the entire time.
Yesterday was a great fast and testimony meeting and both of these families came to church together. We love it when people make the gospel apart of their lives but we love it even more when families can enjoy the blessings of the gospel together so Sister Boyd and I are really excited to be be teaching these families.
Now that I'm a missionary I always get a little nervous when fast and testimony meeting begins if we have investigators coming. But yesterday the Spirit was really strong and everyone who shared their testimony brought their experiences back to the Savior and to Heavenly Father so it was really good and our investigators seemed to like all of the meetings.
Nothing else really new or exciting, that comes close to this anyway. But things continue to go well here. It's been raining a lot. Somtimes it's cold but for the most part it's not too bad.
I do want to ask you all to possibly helo me in thinking of questions to ask the apostle that's coming a week from Saturday. I don't know if I told you already but it's been opened up to the entire mission so everyone will get to be there. I've been thinking and I'll have to think harder this week but I don't really know what to ask him. If ya'll have any ideas feel free to let me know.
I love you and hope you have a great week! :)

I love God. I love that He loves us. This past week has been wonderful and we've been able to see the Lord's tender mercies in this His work.
A few days ago we met a young 21 year old Nikki and her younger sister Shaunte'. We were out on our bikes at night trying to find people to talk to when we spotted the two of them walking down the street. We introduced ourselves (with a lack of faith on my part) thinking this was going to go like most of our encounters with people but Nikki was interested and wanted to learn more.
We pulled off to the side of the road to get further away from traffic, where we said a prayer and shared with them the restoration. We met a couple different people that night who allowed us to pray and share a scripture from the Book of Mormon with them and it felt amazing to bring them closer to the pure love of Christ.
We were able to set up a return appointment with Nikki two days later (Saturday) and we had a member come with us. She had a lot of questions which we love and she has a desire to learn more about the gospel. Our lesson was quick because she had a lot family over but we invited her to read from the Book of Mormon and to pray so she could receive an answer for herself of it's truthfullness. She accepted and we'll be meeting with her again this week. Please pray for her. One thing I've noticed is that when someone has a sincere desire to learn about God and come closer to Him. Satan starts to work double time because that's the last thing he wants to have happen. The power of the Lord is and will always be stronger.
Yesterday was a cold and cloudy day. We didn't have any appointments after church so we decided to knock doors for a couple of hours. The night before I picked a street called Terrill (for familiar purposes) so we knocked there. It was a super nice neighborhood with really big houses. For the most part people were really nice but uninterested and everyone on the block seemed to be set in their religions.
Towards the end of the street we knocked on a door and no one answered so we began to walk away. When we got to the end of the driveway a lady opened her door and asked us who we were with. We introduced ourselves as the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and told here we shared a message about our Savior and about a book called the Book of Mormon. She stopped us and told us she would like to share a message with us.
She then began to tell us how we as women in the church were brainwashed and were slaves of men. That we were forced to be on missions by our parents and that we weren't servants of God but of men (our prophets). She had read up on a lot of anti things and when we bore testimony she rejected it with things she had read. She ended up walking away from us and we wished her well when she left.
As we walked away the sun came out for the first time all day. It went away after a couple of minutes but Sister Boyd and I both noticed it and Sister Boyd mentioned that it was Heavenly Father's way of saying "All is well".
I'm so amazed at what we can accomplish and become with the help of Heavenly Father and our Savior. If this encounter would have happened before my mission it would've taken me awhile to recover but now experiences like this only strenghten and help solidify my testimony. If anything I've found more love and respect for myself inside of the church than anywhere else. No other religion or worldly antidote can offer me the peaceful assurance that I'm a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. Who knows my name and knows how to help me in my weaknesses.
Sister Boyd has a couple of talks on her Ipod where the prophets and apostles bare testimony of the Savior. I keep playing them over and over and my testimony of them being men called of God has also been strengthened. There are a lot that are my favorite but one I really love and I'll leave with you in my e-mail. It's given me alot of strength as a missionary but I know it's for everyone. I'm not sure which one but one but one of the apostles says:
"For nearly six thousand years God has held you in reserve to make your appearance in the final days before the second coming. Every previous gospel dispensation has drifted into apostasy, but ours will not. God has saved for the final ining some of His strongest children who will help bare off the kingdom triumphantly. For you are the generation that must be prepared to meet your God. Make no mistake about it, you are a marked generation. There has never been more expected of the faithful in such a short period of time as there is for us. Each day we personally make many decisions that show where our support will go. The forces of righteousness will finally win. What reamins to be seen is where each of us personally now and in the future will stand in this fight and how tall we will stand".
Think of it! The confidence and the trust They have in us to be placed on earth specifically for this time. They have faith in us and They know we can make it back to Them. Who better to have on our side than Them and the many examples of those who have faithfully gone before us? I love you all and hope you never forget your divine destiny.

Hello,
This was incredible! We had Zone Conference on Tuesday and we were able to be trained by President and Sister Cutler as well as other leaders and missionaries from our mission. We learned a lot and it got us really pumped to go out and work again. President Cutler also told us that an apostle (he didn't say which one) is coming here to San Antonio and he wanted to speak to the missionaries here.
It's too much money to transport the entire mission so he made it clear that it was only for the San Antonio area. It's a good thing but it's also two days after the transfer so some of us who are here now might not be after transfers. President told us in advance so that we could start now to prepare ourselves. We'll be given time at the end to ask questions and receive advice and he wants us to be thinking about what we want to ask now.
He also adviced us to not ask and apostle questions about the Second Coming or about questions that can be found in Preach My Gospel:)I feel that I have a pretty good chance to stay here but we never really know until it happens.
The rest of the week went well also. Another Elder and I gave our talks yesterday and I was able to make it through without crying the whole time so that was nice. We talked on how to strengthen our testimonies and I focused on the Moroni chapter 10: 4-5 where we're promised that if we have a sincere desire to know if the BofM/gospel is true that we can truly "know" for ourselves by the power of the Holy Ghost. It's one of my favorite scriptures because of the promise that's given.
My time on the computer is running out and the alert keeps flashing..10 minutes..5 minutes.... and it's very intimidating so I'm going to end my session now. Highlights for this next week are President interviews which are also my favorite:) I love you all.
Until next week,
Sister Green

Good Morning,
Another wonderful week here in Windcrest. A lot of rain the past couple of days but Sunday was a bright beautiful day.
My new companion Sister Boyd is great and we get along well. It's just the two of us in our little apartment so we've really gotten to know each other. She was a nanny too back east and we've been able to exchange a lot of fun stories from that. She's also a really good missionary and her testimony of the gospel is a real strength to me.
The ward here is very friendly and the members feed us well. Next Sunday an Elder and I are going to give talks on how to strengthen testimonies. Sister Boyd mentioned it to me a couple of weeks ago and we decided that it would be good for me to say it so the ward can get to know me a little better. I'm one transfer ahead of Sister Boyd (6 weeks) but this is her first area so she knows a lot of people here.
There's a really sweet 19 year old girl Taylor, and she's been blind since the age of 4. Sister Boyd and her trainer taught and baptized her. She lives on her own and doesn't receive a lot of support from her family. Her testimony of the gospel is also strong and she's really smart. During our visits with her we read from the Book of Mormon or General Conference talks and she likes to knit. The first time I met her and even now I was amazed at her abilities and of how self-reliant she is.
We continue to be blessed with people who are interested in the gospel and we've been working hard to improve our boldness so people understand our purpose and recognize us as servants of God.
Yesterday while we were knocking an apartment complex, at the last door we knocked (this always happens) we met a young mother named Ladonna. She was the only person in the entire complex that was interested but we were able to share the restoration with her and her two year old son Jamal. She has a belief in God but she's been out of church for a long time and she's willing and has a desire to learn more.
Also yesterday two of the Elders in our District had a baptism. We invited a couple of our investigators but none of them showed up. The baptism was for a young girl who was on the army post. Her friend/roommate shared the gospel with her and she had a desire to be baptized. She'd been going to church on post for awhile and the two Elders were contacted last week. They met with her and set up a date for yesterday.
The Spirit during the service was really strong and powerful testimonies were shared. One of which was from a High Councilman who was introduced to the gospel when he was living with his wife and two little girls in Germany. Two sister missionaries knocked on their door and they began the lessons. He bore a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and of this the Lords' work, of the Book of Mormon and of us Gods' children.
There were several nonmembers there who came to support this girl as she entered into the waters of baptism and the spirit that was there was hard to miss.
It was a good week and we're looking forward to many more just like it. Thank you all again for everything you do. It's nice to hear from and about you. Hope you all enjoy your busy week.
Love you guys,
Sister Green

Hello,
this past transfer week has gone by fast. Sister John and I have been seperated and we're no longer serving in the Austin area. We are both serving in San Antonio. I'm in a place called Windcrest. There's a big map of San Antonio in our apartment and we only live few miles aways from where I went to school and where I used to live when I was here. even though were really close it's just outside of our area which is sad but I'm still happy to be here.
My new companions name is Sister Boyd. She's from Highland, UT and Nana is friends with her mother so I knew about her before we met.She also went to school with Uncle Matt and they were friends in Junior High...small world. She's really sweet and she's been in this her first area, for three transfers so i'm learning a lot from her.
Our area is shared with Elders so we have a car share with them as well. This means that we're on bikes for half of the week when we don't have the car. i was actually excited when i learned we were going to be on the bikes because it is really good excercise. My first night here we used the bikes for like twenty minutes before we went in ans I kept laughing at myself because I could not believe that I was here, on a bike, in a skirt, with a helmet on. If there was any pride left in me it is definitely gone now.
Windcrest is a fairly big area. A lot of nice houses ( that remind me of being back east) and there are a lot of really poor areas too. The weather here is just as cold as i was in Austin so no change there. I'm looking forward to being here and I finally get to go to the temple once a transfer!
I'll try to write more next week but before I forget my new address is 6700 N Vandiver #905 san Antonio, Tx 78029
Love you,

Happy Transfers Indeed!
Hello,
New Years was fun and can you believe that it SNOWED here? It actually snowed Christmas Eve but I forgot to tell you guys about it.
The past week has gone well, like most weeks. For New Years we worked until about 7 and we went to a members house with a few other companionships of missionaries and played games for a little bit. Good times:)
Sister John and I got a "special" call from our Mission President yesterday morning telling us that we would be "doubled-out" and Elders will be taking our place in Leander. I don't know where I'm going yet or who my new companion will be and I won't find out until Thursday and neither does Sister John but our President told her that there is a new area that'll be opened up for Sisters and Sister John is going to be doubled-in....very fascinating! I'm really excited to see where I end up and who I end up with.
Packing is no bueno because I don't like packing but everything else is really good... Because we have two new missionaries coming in at the same time we have a lot to do and a lot of information we need to leave them about the area. I'm kind of glad we only have a little room and a bathroom instead of an entire apartment for transfers like this because there's a lot of cleaning involved too!
Sister John is really sad to leave. I'm going to miss Leander too and we've been blessed with a lot of wonderful people who are interested in learning more about the gospel and it's difficult to leave them but the Elders that come here will be great.
Sorry for this length again. Hopefully by next week things will be a little more settled and I'll have more to say!
Love you all,
Sister Green
