Hello Everyone,
I'm really crunched for time this week but know that things continue to go well. President Cutler is doing well also. He had surgery on Tuesday and was back to work by Friday....miracle! Our Zone Conferences have been rescheduled and we have ours this Wednesday. We also have our President interviews on Thursday.
Things have been great and all is well here in San Antonio. Sorry this isn't very informative:( Next week I'll try to budget my time a little better.
Love you guys and hope you have an awesome week!

Hello,
Sorry if my e-mail didn't get out to everyone last week. I typed fast and didn't check to see if I typed everyone's e-mail in correctly. When I looked at my e-mail today it showed that there were a few typos...Sorry again. In the future if you do get an e-mail from me please check to see if there are typos in the other e-mail addresses and if there are please forward my e-mail to others. Thanks
We were supposed to have Zone Conference tomorrow but we got a call this morning from our District Leader who told us that President Cutler went into the hospital last night for a herniatied disc. He's in a lot of pain so we're all praying that he'll be able to recover soon.
This past week we've met a lot of people who are troubled about all of the calamaties that are happening around the world. We've met people who have sincere concerns and feel that God doesn't care or love them because of all of the bad things. This is why I love the gospel so much. It's the only thing that can bring peace and comfort into our lives even with all of the bad around us.
Every Wednesday we have District Meeting with the missionries close to our area (usually consisting of four different companionships). This past week we talked about the Book of Mormon. We read in Preach My Gospel which is also great. When Elder Bednar was hear he told us that the leaders of our chusrch didn't want us to memorize Preach My Gospel but that they wanted us to become Preach My Gospel so that's been nice to refocus and try to improve myself.
In Preach My Gospel there's a part about the Book Of Mormon where it says that it is the most correct of any book on the earth )Joseph Smith). It also tells us that the Book of Mormon combined with the Spirit is our most powerful tool for conversion. Before our training I forgot about the importance of the Book of Mormon. I use it but I also get excited about the other standard works. It's been a little difficult for me to find a balance for all of them but this training we had really helped.
Our District Leader asked us to think of questions that we've either been asked before or have wondered for ourselves. He wrote about 15 of them on the board and then we split up into groups (each companionship with a question) and we did role plays for diffrent situations where those questions would be asked by people we meet.
There were questions/concerns like: What is the purpose of life?
Does God know me? Why do I need to get married? Why does God allow suffering to occur? Why do I need to go to church? Why do I need religion? How am I sinning if I'm happy? Why do we need more than the Bible? Why do I need to pray? Is there life after death? I've already been baptised etc..
I hadn't known this before but all of these questions/concerns and many more like it were and can be found in the Book of Mormon. In Preach My Gospel under the Book Of Mormon section there's a part where it says the Book of Mormon can answer questions of the soul. My testimony of the Book of Mormon continues to grow and it is for our day. I'm so grateful for the prophets before us who took time to write about the their experiences so that we could find strength to know of the things we can do. It's really helped Sister Boyd and I teach more effectively as missionaries and be better equipped to serve the people here.
I love the Book of Mormon.

Hello,
This past week we were able to hear from one of the twelve...Elder David A. Bednar. It was wonderful, for lack of a better word in my vocabulary.
President Cutler sent us a text the night before telling all of us to be to the chapel by 8:30 A.M. The meeting was at our chapel (here in Windcrest) and when we arrived most of the missionaries, some of which had to travel for hours were there before us. We sat for about thirty minutes pondering, reading scriptures, etc. and an Elder was nice enough to share his talents and play the piano for us to invite the Spirit. There was a quiet dignity in the room even before the General Authorities arrived and the spirit of everyone present, ready to learn and improve was almost overwhelming at first.
When Elder Bednar and two of the area seventy walked in we all stood for them and opened the meeting with a song and prayer. Unfortunately I can't remember their names. I want to say Elder Richardson and Elder Gonzalez but I'm not sure.
Elder Bednar began by asking us all if we were ready to work. He made us all really comfortable from the beginning and assured us that he was going to treat us as agents who act and not as objects who are acted upon. A few weeks ago we were given two talks by Elder Bednar and we were told that the Apostle (who at the time was unknown to us) wanted us to read and study the two talks so that we would be more prepared.
If I can think of one thing that stood out to me the entire three hours it would be love. About half way through the meeting Elder Bednar asked us to raise our hands if any of us had a question that wasn't addressed there and we received an answer to the question we had. About 70% of us had our arms raised and Elder Bednar provided insight and explained how individual the Holy Ghost can be and how individual Heavenly Father's love is.
I personally had questions in my mind some of which didn't come until the meeting had already started but the Holy Ghost was able to answer my questions and provide knowledge as well as comfort for me.
Our mission president also spoke a little and a lot of time was spent allowing us to ask questions. It was an unforgettable experience and the Spirit was amazingly strong.
I don't have much more to say except I know the Lord loves us. Heavenly Fathers' plan is perfect and He hasn't since the moment the earth was created, left us alone here. This experience was once in a lifetime for me but we all have the opportunity to hear from these faithful leaders of the church often. We're so blessed.
Even in a world with so many bad things Heavenly Father has provided and allowed so much good to be here also. Jesus Christ is our Savior. The gospel has been restored. The priesthood power is once again on the earth. We have a living prophet who receives guidance from God for and in behalf of all of us. We can receive the constant comforting companionship of the Holy Ghost who will lead us safely home to our Father in Heaven.
Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. Not in ways we may always expect or understand but He and our Savior know us better than anyone else and they are always there.
Love you guys,

Hello Hello Everyone,
I'm not very good at reminding you the week before but hopefully you all know that this week is transfer week! We got our phone calls last night and Sister Boyd and I are staying together for another transfer! We were both really excited because we've been teaching a couple of different people together and we didn't want to leave yet.
Nothing really new to report on except the entire mission is extremely excited to hear from one of the twelve this Saturday! The work here in Windcrest continues to go well and we've been blessed with people to teach.
I don't have a lot of time today but I love you all. Thank you for all of you support and prayers as well as the Valentines Day wishes :) Hope you all have a good week.
Love you,
Sister Green

Hello all,
Another great week here! We've seen more miracles. This past week we started teaching two part member families. The first family is the Hernandez family. The husband has been a member for a little over a year and his wife and 14 year old daughter are now showing interest in learning more. We had a good lesson with them this weekend and we have another one tonight.
The second family is the Haliburtons. Both the mother and her 16 year old son have been baptized. Derrick (the son) was baptized in November and his mother was interested, took the lessons, and he was able to baptize her in December. She has two teenage daughters who previously weren't interested but this past week we went over and had a lesson and both of the girls stayed the entire time.
Yesterday was a great fast and testimony meeting and both of these families came to church together. We love it when people make the gospel apart of their lives but we love it even more when families can enjoy the blessings of the gospel together so Sister Boyd and I are really excited to be be teaching these families.
Now that I'm a missionary I always get a little nervous when fast and testimony meeting begins if we have investigators coming. But yesterday the Spirit was really strong and everyone who shared their testimony brought their experiences back to the Savior and to Heavenly Father so it was really good and our investigators seemed to like all of the meetings.
Nothing else really new or exciting, that comes close to this anyway. But things continue to go well here. It's been raining a lot. Somtimes it's cold but for the most part it's not too bad.
I do want to ask you all to possibly helo me in thinking of questions to ask the apostle that's coming a week from Saturday. I don't know if I told you already but it's been opened up to the entire mission so everyone will get to be there. I've been thinking and I'll have to think harder this week but I don't really know what to ask him. If ya'll have any ideas feel free to let me know.
I love you and hope you have a great week! :)

I love God. I love that He loves us. This past week has been wonderful and we've been able to see the Lord's tender mercies in this His work.
A few days ago we met a young 21 year old Nikki and her younger sister Shaunte'. We were out on our bikes at night trying to find people to talk to when we spotted the two of them walking down the street. We introduced ourselves (with a lack of faith on my part) thinking this was going to go like most of our encounters with people but Nikki was interested and wanted to learn more.
We pulled off to the side of the road to get further away from traffic, where we said a prayer and shared with them the restoration. We met a couple different people that night who allowed us to pray and share a scripture from the Book of Mormon with them and it felt amazing to bring them closer to the pure love of Christ.
We were able to set up a return appointment with Nikki two days later (Saturday) and we had a member come with us. She had a lot of questions which we love and she has a desire to learn more about the gospel. Our lesson was quick because she had a lot family over but we invited her to read from the Book of Mormon and to pray so she could receive an answer for herself of it's truthfullness. She accepted and we'll be meeting with her again this week. Please pray for her. One thing I've noticed is that when someone has a sincere desire to learn about God and come closer to Him. Satan starts to work double time because that's the last thing he wants to have happen. The power of the Lord is and will always be stronger.
Yesterday was a cold and cloudy day. We didn't have any appointments after church so we decided to knock doors for a couple of hours. The night before I picked a street called Terrill (for familiar purposes) so we knocked there. It was a super nice neighborhood with really big houses. For the most part people were really nice but uninterested and everyone on the block seemed to be set in their religions.
Towards the end of the street we knocked on a door and no one answered so we began to walk away. When we got to the end of the driveway a lady opened her door and asked us who we were with. We introduced ourselves as the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and told here we shared a message about our Savior and about a book called the Book of Mormon. She stopped us and told us she would like to share a message with us.
She then began to tell us how we as women in the church were brainwashed and were slaves of men. That we were forced to be on missions by our parents and that we weren't servants of God but of men (our prophets). She had read up on a lot of anti things and when we bore testimony she rejected it with things she had read. She ended up walking away from us and we wished her well when she left.
As we walked away the sun came out for the first time all day. It went away after a couple of minutes but Sister Boyd and I both noticed it and Sister Boyd mentioned that it was Heavenly Father's way of saying "All is well".
I'm so amazed at what we can accomplish and become with the help of Heavenly Father and our Savior. If this encounter would have happened before my mission it would've taken me awhile to recover but now experiences like this only strenghten and help solidify my testimony. If anything I've found more love and respect for myself inside of the church than anywhere else. No other religion or worldly antidote can offer me the peaceful assurance that I'm a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. Who knows my name and knows how to help me in my weaknesses.
Sister Boyd has a couple of talks on her Ipod where the prophets and apostles bare testimony of the Savior. I keep playing them over and over and my testimony of them being men called of God has also been strengthened. There are a lot that are my favorite but one I really love and I'll leave with you in my e-mail. It's given me alot of strength as a missionary but I know it's for everyone. I'm not sure which one but one but one of the apostles says:
"For nearly six thousand years God has held you in reserve to make your appearance in the final days before the second coming. Every previous gospel dispensation has drifted into apostasy, but ours will not. God has saved for the final ining some of His strongest children who will help bare off the kingdom triumphantly. For you are the generation that must be prepared to meet your God. Make no mistake about it, you are a marked generation. There has never been more expected of the faithful in such a short period of time as there is for us. Each day we personally make many decisions that show where our support will go. The forces of righteousness will finally win. What reamins to be seen is where each of us personally now and in the future will stand in this fight and how tall we will stand".
Think of it! The confidence and the trust They have in us to be placed on earth specifically for this time. They have faith in us and They know we can make it back to Them. Who better to have on our side than Them and the many examples of those who have faithfully gone before us? I love you all and hope you never forget your divine destiny.

Hello,
This was incredible! We had Zone Conference on Tuesday and we were able to be trained by President and Sister Cutler as well as other leaders and missionaries from our mission. We learned a lot and it got us really pumped to go out and work again. President Cutler also told us that an apostle (he didn't say which one) is coming here to San Antonio and he wanted to speak to the missionaries here.
It's too much money to transport the entire mission so he made it clear that it was only for the San Antonio area. It's a good thing but it's also two days after the transfer so some of us who are here now might not be after transfers. President told us in advance so that we could start now to prepare ourselves. We'll be given time at the end to ask questions and receive advice and he wants us to be thinking about what we want to ask now.
He also adviced us to not ask and apostle questions about the Second Coming or about questions that can be found in Preach My Gospel:)I feel that I have a pretty good chance to stay here but we never really know until it happens.
The rest of the week went well also. Another Elder and I gave our talks yesterday and I was able to make it through without crying the whole time so that was nice. We talked on how to strengthen our testimonies and I focused on the Moroni chapter 10: 4-5 where we're promised that if we have a sincere desire to know if the BofM/gospel is true that we can truly "know" for ourselves by the power of the Holy Ghost. It's one of my favorite scriptures because of the promise that's given.
My time on the computer is running out and the alert keeps flashing..10 minutes..5 minutes.... and it's very intimidating so I'm going to end my session now. Highlights for this next week are President interviews which are also my favorite:) I love you all.
Until next week,
Sister Green
